before I head out tonight to party a bit, I thought to give you the overview from my side of things when it comes to all the action down here in South Beach.
Head to the Basement tonight to catch Lee Foss and Jamie Jones. Not far from the Basement is the Wall at the W Hotel where my fav Damian Lazarus is playing and there is a chance that I will be there afterwards on the way home.
My highlight of this year is the Mastermix Boat Party as I get to see a lot of old friends such as the wonderful guys from fashion-label Hard8 from L.A. Jackmaster, Skream and Jasper James from the UK are spinning while the float of cold drinks never ends thanks to the open bar on the Biscayne Lady. There are still tickets left for the cruise: Mastermix Boat Party
If you can’t make it out there, you may head over to The Confidante Hotel where the guys from Just Kiddin’ are sharing decks with The Magician, Jax Jones, Pat Lok and The Aston Shuffle The Magician & Dancing Astronaut Potion Pool Party Won’t be heading to a club afterwards because there is…
Get up early today. The Shore Club is hosting a free-party (you need to RVSP though) around 1 PM with Chromeo, The Ashton Shuffle, Youngr and Love Taps. You can catch me there for sure: Corona Electric Beach w/ Chromeo
The rooftop of the Clevelander is legendary as it played host to many great parties and you have a beautiful view over Ocean Drive and the beach. And the party comes again for free, so why not spending a few moments there: Change of Pace
The mojito at Juvia is tasty. Add Lisa Shaw’s life performance to it and a few good deep & disco tunes by Savy Fontana while enjoying the amazing view from the other side of South Beach. But not for too long as you are heading to the Sushisamba right after for some sushi, caipirinhas and the NDYD Sambatronic-party. From Blu Curacao to Noce and Dilemmachine, you can catch plenty of talent that night playing the finest disco and synth-pop tracks until 2 o’clock.
After a quick check-up of the action at the W Hotel and it’s pool-party with Amtrac and Justin Jay , I might be heading to the National Hotel since Dennis Ferrer is playing at the Vatos Locos pool party…orale, homes!
MK is playing next door at the Surfcomber-pool while A-Trak and one of my favs, Redlight are spinning at the Surfcomber-pool…too many options, too many options!
Enough of the wet, there is also a free rooftop gathering at the Townhouse next door.
And the night didn’t even begin. NDYD is back at the Sushisamba for some true disco led by local-heads Dan.K, Ella Romand, Retrasoft. Joining the disco-dance are Eau Claire from D.C., Blu Curacao from London and yours truly. If you aren’t dead yet, take a cab and head over to the Bardot for some serious deep & tech thanks to MK, Jonas Rathsman and Lee Foss.
No, you don’t want to rest. Get plenty of water and walk down to Ocean’s Ten across the Clevelander on Ocean Drive. My boy Mikey is in town with Souleil and it’s worth to check this open-air joint out. Plenty of soulful and true deep house is guaranteed!
There is also Soul Clap and Nick Monaco at the Freehand so catch a cab or the South Beach trolley and head up north for some mellow vibes around the hostel’s cozy pool.
We are not finished for the day-time parties. 1306 N. Miami Ave is the next stop for you and me. Essential Salted is back after a one-year absence. From Miguel Migs to Danny Krivit to Jay-J, this all-day event is logged in.
Not far from the venue is the Floyd. You love G-Funk? DaM-FunK is your man. Catch this unique fella that night. After that, you’be be ridin’ yo’ cadillac in a three-wheel motion through SoBe the next day.
I will be gone during the day but hey, you can still party if in town and I strongly recommend a few of the closing day-parties to you. First up is Soul Clap’s House of Efunk. The Pickle is across the street of SuViche. Get some pisco sour’s and head over. You got three options for the night. Carl Cox is spinning vinyl at the Basement. Wait, he is spinning disco classics. And you have to dress like it’s the 70’s. I loved the party last year so will you this year.
Remember Classixx? They are at the Bardot. Why not? Why Not!
Oh, there is Kitsune at the Soho Beach House as well. My guess: The Magician, Pat Lok and maybe Moon Boots? No idea as this isn’t really advertised. Try you luck and contact Kitsune for guest-list. Last year has been actually fun, so it’s worth a try!
